OLYOKE, Mass. – The Vermont Mountaineers's five-game winning streak ends with a comeback victory by the Valley Blue Sox.

• Elliot Miles scored on a throwing error by catcher Jacob Dilley in the top of the 4th. A sac fly by Bryce Rudisill and a triple from JJ Parsons against Valley starter Riley Williams made the score 3-0 Vermont.

• The Blue Sox plated a run courtesy of a Ryan Frontera sac fly in the bottom of the frame.

• Alex Benevento mashed an RBI in the top of the 5th to score Sam Winsett. The inning ended with two runners in scoring position when Matthew Minckler was caught in a rundown trying to steal home.

• Mountaineers reliever Jack Sheldon walked the bases loaded to score Nico Saul in the 6th. Dilley grounded out and stranded the bases loaded for the Blue Sox.

• Nico Saul notched an RBI in the 7th to cut the Vermont lead to one run.

• Ryan Frontera knocked a single to score Esteban Garcia and tie the game in the 8th. Davis Budd came into pitch for Kody Collins after three batters and left the bases juiced.

• Frontera placed a single into left field in the bottom of the 9th to walk it off for Valley.

• The Mountaineers recorded one extra-base hit on Thursday. Vermont is third in the NECBL with 93 to their name, tied for first in the NECBL in doubles and leads the league in triples.

• Vermont stole seven bases against the Blue Sox. They lead the NECBL in that category.

• Minckler is first in the league for the most stolen bases with 36. He stole two bags against Valley on Thursday

• Elliot Miles is tied for third in the NECBL with 25 stolen bases. He notched two more bases against the Blue Sox.

• David Alvarez's hit puts him in fourth place in the NECBL with 39. His two RBI against the Gulls on Sunday also put him fifth in the league with 23.

• Alex Benevento's run scored against the Blue Sox puts him tied for third in the league with 30 home plate touches. 

• JJ Parsons's triple against Valley makes him one of 13 batters with two or more triples.

• Matthew Minckler's one run scored against the SwampBats to put them at a fifth-best 29 for the season.

• Jackson Hulcher's five strikeouts against Keene puts him eighth in the league with 38 Ks.

• Alvarez's triple against Newport puts him at ten extra-base hits. He, Minckler and Benevento are three of 20 in the NECBL with double-digit extra-base knocks.

• Rex Hauser's six innings of work against North Adams ties the longest outing by a Mountaineers pitcher this summer.

• Minckler's two triples against the SteepleCats on July 15 gives him the most in the NECBL.

• Miles's double on July 15 makes him one of eight players in the NECBL with eight or more doubles.

• Brendon Miller's eleven strikeouts against North Adams on July 12 is the most by a Vermont pitcher in a single outing. The Mountaineers' 19 total strikeouts is the most in a single game this season for the team.
