Kyle Langley popped a sac fly to centerfield in the top of the 4th inning to bring around Alex Kelsey. Vermont starter Hank Lippman hit Alejandro Puig with the bases loaded to make the score 2-0 Upper Valley.

A fielder's choice RBI from Bryce Rudisill in the bottom of the frame scored the Mountaineers' first run. Vincent Davis drilled a two-out bases-clearing triple to put Vermont up 3-2.

Dominic DeLoreto came in relief for Lippman and gave up seven straight base runners. He allowed five hits, two doubles, a walk and hit a batter to give Upper Valley a 7-3 lead.

Still in the 5th, Eli DeRossi replaced DeLoreto and allowed the remaining runners to score off of an RBI flyout and groundout before the inning ended.

Upper Valley continued in the scoring in the 6th with a two-run single by Nick Quagliato and a sac fly from Levi Jones against DeRossi's first full frame of work.

Elliot Miles skipped a double into left field in the 7th to cut the advantage. The inning ended 12-8 Upper Valley after David Alvarez and Bryce Rudisill tallied back-to-back RBI and Bryce Rudisill scored on a passed ball.

Vermont worked an eight-batter 8th inning to cut the lead to two runs. Alvarez hit a two-run RBI single to bring about Davis and Charlie Niehaus.

Alex Kelsey sent Puig around for an insurance run for a 13-10 Nighthawks lead in the 9th. Kody Collins worked three outs in a row to leave the bases loaded.

Artie Green walked the bases loaded, but Charlie Jones secured the final three outs.
