Sanford-Vermont Postponed in Bottom of 3rd Due to Lightning

MONTPELIER, Vt.  — Vermont took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 3rd inning before lightning postponed the contest to a future date.

• The bottom of the order started the scoring for Vermont with JJ Parson, Matthew Minckler and Tyler Jones all recording hits against Sanford starter Jake Dally. Minckler ripped an RBI double and Jones drove another run home.

• Sanford took one run back in the following frame off an RBI from leadoff batter Albert De La Rosa.

• Lightning delayed the contest in the bottom of the 3rd inning in a 2-1 ballgame.

• Eli DeRossi's victory against the Blue Sox makes him one of five NECBL pitchers with three wins.

• Alex Benevento's 4-for-4 night against Upper Valley puts him tied for fourth in the NECBL with 22 hits. His double puts him second in the league with 9 extra-base knocks. 

• On the base path, Benevento scored three runs on Sunday to put him at a league-high 20 for the season.

• Matthew Minckler is first in the league for the most stolen bases with 15.

• Nick Mullen hit a double in the 9th inning against the Nighthawks. He is now tied for most doubles in the NECBL with seven to his name.
