Vermont added to their extra-base hitting with two doubles. David Alvarez registered another RBI to send home Kevin Hager and Alex Benevento.

Samuel Fernandez took one run back in the bottom of the 1st with an RBI single.

Kevin Hager tallied the third double for the Mountaineers in the top of the 2nd inning. Benevento and David Alvarez followed the Cornell product immediately by batting in two more runs.

Sam Bradley reached on an error in the 2nd, allowing Alvarez to score. On a failed rundown attempt, Nick Mullen scored the fourth run of the frame.

Max Marchetti stepped in for Deering after 1.2 innings. JJ Parsons smacked a two-run RBI before the 2nd wrapped up with Vermont up 8-1.

Matthew Minckler hit a double in the top of the 3rd before being ruled out due to not stepping on first base.

Charlie Saul registered a sac fly in the 2nd to cut the lead to six runs.

Tyler Jones became a pinch runner for Hager in the top of the 6th after he was shaken up on the base path.

Nick Mullen notched a two-run RBI single in the top of the 6th to go up 10-2.

The Waves found another score off an RBI double from Brodey Bitove after Hank Lippman replaced Matthew Kahn.

Rex Hauser tossed the first four innings for Vermont. The Green Mountain State native allowed three hits, one walk and sat down five batters. Ocean State only had one runner in scoring position with Hauser on the bump.

Elliot Miles hit an RBI off of reliever Dylan McCarthy to send Sebastian Collender home in the bottom of the 5th inning for the game's first run.

Ocean State took their first lead of the afternoon on a two-run RBI double from Justin Hackett in the 6th inning. Liam Flynn got his first hit of the season to send Hackett home.

In Trey Telfer's first inning of work for the Waves, Vermont left the bases loaded to keep the Ocean State lead at 3-1.

Rex Hauser completed his longest appearance of the summer. He went four innings plus only giving up three hits and no runs. Jackson Hulcher and Davis Budd also appeared in Game 2.
