Bristol loaded the bases in the first three batters of the 1st inning. Westin Boyle scored Nick Flores on a sac fly, but two strikeouts from Ryan Brown held the Blues offense to one run.

The 1-2 hitters made immediate impacts for the Mountaineers. Matthew Minckler hit a leadoff single and he scored off a Brayden Leonard RBI.

Steve Polizzi scored on a balk from reliever Eli DeRossi after the catcher hit a leadoff single to even the game at one run apiece.

Sam Bradley smashed the first home run at Montpelier Recreation Field this summer. A 3-run shot put Vermont up 4-2 after two frames.

In his first game for the Mountaineers this summer, David Alvarez collected an RBI single to put Vermont up three in the 3rd.

Three hits sent home three runs in the 4th inning for Vermont. Brayden Leonard sent home two on a single and Alex Benevento scored Leonard on a single of his own.

Similar to the first of the two, a two-pitcher inning for the Mountaineers started some offense for the opposition. Nick Kelly subbed in for Eli DeRossi on the bump with the bases loaded, leading Steve Polizzi and Mason Breton to register RBIs in the 5th inning.

Vermont responded back with another three-run frame in the 6th. David Alvarez launched a two-run RBI triple and Nick Mullen tacked on another with his second double of the contest.

Kevin Hager cracked his first hit of the night in the inning. Alvarez batted in his fourth run two batters later.

Eli DeRossi became the first Vermont pitcher with two wins this season. The Mount St. Mary's pitcher allowed no hits and struck out two.

Northwestern's Dominic DeLoreto made his Vermont debut tonight. The Floridian went two full innings without giving up a hit.

Andrew Gendi closed the game with his second game in three days and third overall. He delivered one strikeout in the final two outs.
