Hometown: Fort Wayne, INJustin’s
baseball prowess earned him First Team All-Horizon League honors
last year. He also garnered Rawlings Second Team All-Region honors
from the American Baseball Coaches Association. And, Ryan was also
named to the 2007 Horizon League All-Academic Team. He set the
single season school record for doubles in a season with 26 and was
ranked sixth in the nation in doubles-per-game. He was ranked 90th
in the nation with a batting average of .379. Starting 53 games,
Ryan posted 21 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games. He carried
a hitting streak of 23 games and ended last season with a five-game
hitting streak. |

Gerald Ogrinc

Position: Catcher
Height: 6-2 Weight 225
Sophomore
Bats: R Throws: R
Hometown: Twinsburg, OHSharing
catching responsibilities Gerald provided the defending NECBL
Champions with a steady performance behind the plate last season.
Playing in half the season’s games, Gerald had an on-base percentage
of.282 and a steady game-calling technique behind the plate for the
Mountaineers.
In his high school career, Gerald lettered three years for the
Twinsburg Tigers and was named to the First Team All-Western Reserve
Conference both as a junior and a senior. A note for area golf fans:
Gerald also lettered in golf and was named to the All-WRC second
team in golf. |

Nick Greenwood
University of Rhode Island
Position: LHP
Height: 6-0 Weight: 170
Sophomore
Bats: L Throws: L
Hometown: Southington, CTNick finished his
rookie season for the Rams in 2007 compiling a 2-3 record while
pitching 39.2 innings and recording 34 strikeouts.
In high school, Nick Captained his baseball team his senior year,
compiled a 16-2 career pitching record. He also recorded 18
strikeouts in an American Legion game. Nick was a four-year member
of the soccer, basketball and baseball teams at Xavier High. He was
also a three-time team MVP and All-State honoree in soccer and was
named to the 2006 All-New-England team. Nick also earned the
basketball team's MVP award. |
