Vermont took the lead in the 1st inning with two hits in the first two batters against North Adams's Niklas Pavia. Matthew Minckler singled, stole a base and scored after Kevin Hager notched an RBI single.

Eli DeRossi came in for Mountaineers starter Brendon Miller who pitched two innings with four strikeouts to just two allowed hits.

Pavia dealt two 1-2-3 innings, but the offense broke through for the Mountaineers. Five runs scored on five hits as Aidan Botti and JJ Parsons registered RBI doubles. Minckler also stole two additional bags as eleven batters stepped up to the plate for Vermont in the frame.

Nolan Currier replaced Pavia in the middle of the 5th inning. He allowed just one hit before Anthoni Kiafoulis came in to pitch for the SteepleCats.

The Mountaineers added 3 in the bottom of the 6th with help of a base-clearing 3-run RBI double from Nick Mullen.

Two runs came around in the bottom of the 8th from a hit-by-pitch and walk by Eli Fleming.

Alex Benevento became the first NECBL player this season with multiple home runs against Danbury. The 2026 Ivy League 2nd-Team player also became one of six players to score a triple this season with his extra base hit on Sunday night.

Kevin Hager knocked two hits on the evening. He is one of two players in the league with seven or more hits.

Matthew Minckler stole six bases. He leads the league in the category by three.

Elliot Miles, Tyler Jones, Aidan Botti and JJ Parson all recorded their first hits of the 2026 campaign. All four batters hit doubles on the night.

Eli DeRossi and Nick Falla appeared in their second outings respectively. DeRossi sat down two batters in five innings and Falla closed out duties in the 9th inning.

Brendon Miller and Nick Kelly made their first appearances pitching. Both Mountaineers tossed four strikeouts each.
