Wooden You Know?
Carpenter showcased his big arm in 2005 when he caught for the Vermont Mountaineers. He gunned down 30% of would-be base stealers in a summer that Carpenter remembers fondly. “A good organization,” Carpenter reflects, “I still stay in contact with a lot of the guys I played with up there. To be able to have that opportunity to play summer ball with a lot of good guys and be with really good people, it was definitely a highlight of my life."

2011 Mountaineers Break NECBL Steals Record
When the books were closed on the NECBL’s 18th regular season, Mountaineers runners stole 118 bases. This broke the NECBL’s record set in 1997 by Central Massachusetts. That team swiped 110 bags.

Mountaineers Season Ends In First Round Sweep Versus Holyoke
Holyoke starter Ben Mount pitched a complete game two-hitter as the Blue Sox defeated the Vermont Mountaineers 4-1 on Thursday night. The loss eliminates Vermont from the playoffs, ending our season.

Blue Sox starter DJ Brown pitched seven innings of one run ball as the Holyoke Blue Sox defeated the Vermont Mountaineers 4-3 in Western Division Semifinal action on Wednesday night. Holyoke leads the best-of-three series 1-0 with game two Thursday night in Montpelier.

Mountaineers Fall to Keene In Regular Season Finale
Brett Barrett hit a bases loaded sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning to take the lead as the Keene Swamp Bats defeated the Vermont Mountaineers 3-2 on Tuesday night. The loss gave Keene the top spot in the Western Division playlets while the Mountaineers are the three seed.

Mountaineers Finish Home Regular Season Schedule With 4-2 Win
Rob Kelly hit a go ahead RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Vermont a 3-2 lead as they would go on to defeat the Mystic Schooners 4-2 in New England Collegiate Baseball League action on Monday night. The win was Vermont's third in a row and clinched no worse than third place in the Western Division playoffs, set to begin Wednesday.

Mountaineers Outhit Division Leading Holyoke in 9-4 Win
Vermont scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie as they went on to defeat the Holyoke Blue Sox 9-4 in New England Collegiate Baseball League action on Sunday night. The win was the Mountaineers second in a row and fifth in their last six as they jumped the Danbury Westerners for third place in the Western Division.
